Job Description

Southeast Law Group is an established AV-rated first-party insurance defense firm with statewide practice and offices in Daytona Beach and St. Petersburg. Our practice is devoted exclusively to litigating residential and commercial property damage claims. We seek a full-time litigation paralegal to join our growing team at either location.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Five years of related experience in a legal setting
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of civil litigation procedures (Federal & Florida State Courts)
  • Knowledge of first-party property insurance defense
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office 365 (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook & Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain efficient working relationships with others and work as a member of a team
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Advanced time management skills and ability to prioritize assignments for self and others

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Electronic organization and indexing of voluminous file documentation
  • Maintain calendar/diary system and ensure compliance with court and client deadlines
  • Drafting, filing and service of pleadings, notices, and discovery.
  • Prepare and process third-party document requests via correspondence and/or through preparation and processing of subpoenas
  • Preparation of file materials, documentation and exhibits for depositions, hearings, trial
  • Preparation and processing of all settlement/closing documents through file closure
